Cult Classic or 80’s Classic?

Sean is big on watching movies that I have NEVER heard of and he swears that they are cult classics.  I don’t really get what defines the two, except for when I suggest a movie, it gets tossed in the 80’s classic.

Some movies he swears is are cult classics are:

Rocky Mountain Horror Picture Show, Big Trouble in Little China, Red Dawn,  Army of Darkness, Evil dead.

I said, Adventures in Babysitting, Dirty Dancing, Fast times at Ridgemount High, Breakfest Club, Farris Bewlers Day off from School and of course Princess Bride.

Some that made the classic 80’s movie list were: Indiana Jones, E.T. Revenge of the Nerds, Back to the Future, Labrynth, Kirate Kid.

Peter, I can’t remember what the Madonna movie was called.  I liked that movie.  Anyone have any other titles they think we left off?  I really don’t remember a lot of the movies, so I would love to hear what you think.

Rocky Horror is definitely a cult classic, but I don’t think I have heard of any of the other ones he listed.

I agree on the cult classics – Rocky Horror all the way!! and all of Romero’s living dead!! What about The Neverending Story for the 80’s…
And for the 90’s Peter’s directoral debut… “Desperately Seeking Fashion” … get her!
